Answer: I'm not sure! I enjoy reading blogs, though at times I think they become tools for Christians to demonstrate the baseness of our sin nature through irreverence and cheekiness. I suppose I should add that I only enjoy reading them when they have something either important or interesting to say. A separate reason for blogging is that I've been looking for an outlet where I might grow in my writing skills. I figure, a great way to become a better writer is to write!
I suppose the ultimate reason for starting this blog is that I'd like to contribute something to the conservative Christian blog world from a perspective that I hope is uniquely balanced and honest. I consider myself a conservative fundamentalist; though the fundamentalist movement is at a crossroads which causes me to wonder regarding the future of that label. Theologically I could be labeled a dispensationalist and a baptist. While I know that none of these associations are particularly novel in conservative Christian blogging circles I think the novelty is found in my hearts desire to be civil, real, and Christ-centered. This does not make me the first with such an aim but I've found this heart is lacking in the blogs which I read today.
Finally, every blog needs a title and a theme. I could think of nothing better than, "Live Eternally". As I read the New Testament I constantly see Paul's motive for his work in that he did all for the prize that awaited him. He set his mind on the spiritual things to come and correctly put his vision on the better and eternal life which he would realize in glory. What a motive for the Christian life today! Live for the eternity that has been promised which will be realized with great joy once we have finished our course in this world.
